Harvest Blessings

This Autumn has been awesome. Rain is rare—sunny golden warmth is the norm. (Hint: It’s the best time to travel here in the Gorge.)

Trees are aflame with color, and the light is amazing, everything is slightly golden.

To celebrate the change, the end of our busy summer, we took our beloved (and hard-working) staff on an adventure. Every year we pick an area to explore for an Employee Celebration Day. One year we traveled the forest roads and ended up at Timberline Lodge.

This year we checked out the petroglyphs in Horsethief State Park, then went to Maryhill Museum and Stonehenge, and finished with a fab dinner at the Glass Onion in Goldendale. It was a fun outing–no shop talk allowed! This is one way we like to thank our staff for providing such great care to you and the hotel.

It’s a gorgeous time for wandering and wondering. Explore the hills and forests of the Gorge. Wander about town, peek in the windows (whoa!) get a coffee at We3 or a burger at Kramer’s. Poke around the museum and chat with locals. Get restored with Gem-Reiki. Nap. Read and Journal in the parlor. Sleep. Repeat.

P.S. In the Fall our attention naturally starts to quiet and turn inward. And many have been very triggered by events of the year. So, we developed something to support you while you reconnect and rejuvenate at the Balch.
