Tips & Tricks to Beat the Winter Blahs - Part 2!

Buried. It feels like we are inundated with snow right now.

Josiah is on the roof, shoveling snow—its heavy and we don’t want it to break through the 3rd floor.

I know it’s not savvy of me to write this—after all we want you to want to come here…

Despite the calendar turning to March, Spring feels more like a dream than a promise.

Hammock time is wishful thinking. Or is it?

The deep dark of winter can feel like a long travail. Whether we want it or not, we’re still in that quiet inward time, going deep and regenerating for the warmer months and changes ahead.
The winter blues can be an issue for some of us. Seasonal Affective Disorder is a real thing, especially at this latitude. So, getting 20 minutes of sun—even just sitting in a bright window—is important. (And let’s not forget our Vitamin D!)

Traveling to sunny places is a great antidote for cabin fever or seasonal blues that can creep in. Maybe a month in Hawaii is out of reach right now, but a short hop to a nearby getaway for a couple of days can really do the trick!

And while we can’t currently boast 80-degree temps, it’s bright and often sunny here more days than not.

Getting outside into fresh air—skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding, or snowmobiling—are great antidotes to an otherwise sluggish mood. Crucial, actually.
