PETIQUETTE AT THE BALCH HOTEL

We are proud to offer pet-friendly accommodations here at the Balch Hotel. However, our boutique historic property is filled with antiques, fine carpets and vintage furnishings that we care to preserve. We hope that with these agreements in place we can remain dog-friendly.

Please read this thoroughly so you, your pet and other guests will be safe and happy when traveling with or without four-legged friends.

We have 2 Traditional Queen rooms and 1 Signature Queen room for guests choosing to travel with fur-babies. They should be clean, free of fleas, and brushed before arriving at the Balch Hotel. This is especially important with long haired animals. Pets with a tendency to bark or cry are not permitted.

You are liable for your pet at all times, and are responsible for damage, injury, or lost revenue that your pet may cause. A $25 per night pet fee is in addition to your room charge.

Leaving a dog alone in a strange building is not like being left alone in your personal home. Therefore, pets may not be left unattended in the guest rooms. Additionally, remember any toys, bowls and food you might need.

Pets are not allowed in the common areas inside of the hotel. They may walk with you (on leash) through the lobby or parlor to access guest rooms. Pets are allowed on our patio.

Your pet friendly room is adjacent the rear fire escape for your easy access to/from the yard and parking area with your pet.

Pet must remain on leash while on Balch Hotel property and nearby community. All pet waste must be cleaned up promptly and placed into the dumpster in the rear parking lot. We do not provide waste bags, currently.

As animals are not allowed in/on beds or furniture, be sure to bring your pet’s doggie bed. If there is evidence of dog hair on/in the bed, you will be charged an additional $50.00 cleaning fee in addition to the $25.00 per night pet fee. Please understand that cleaning sheets, quilts, comforters of dog hair take an inordinate amount of time.)

Remember that other guests or pets may fear (or be allergic to) your animal, so respect others’ space. Thank you in advance for your understanding & cooperation. We do hope you have a great stay!

You will be asked to read and sign before (via email) or at check in.

In the event my pet damages the property, I agree that Balch Hotel may charge my credit card to cover all damage and any lost revenue while damage is being repaired.
